Voucherboy Premier League Football Season

Posted by VoucherBoy on Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

Now the Premier League is back, Voucherboy will bring you a roundup of all the weekends’ action, involving super hero performances from all you stars and our team of the week. The report will be every Tuesday as Monday Night Football returns as the SKY conglomerate controls when games are played.

After the one sided Community Shield which saw Chelsea comfortably beaten 3-1 by Manchester United, they returned to the Premier League with a true super hero display of dominance, especially their super star striker, who like most world class players had not performed at the World Cup, Drogba scoring a hat-trick on the first day and laying down the gauntlet to the rest of the title contenders.

Big spending Manchester City travelled to Spurs and endured a tough first half in which Joe Hart pulled off a string of super saves to keep them in the game. Sunday saw Arsenal travel to Liverpool in the first Super Sunday encounter. Arsenal dominated in the first half and when Joe Cole saw red in his first ever reds appearance, there was only one winner on the cards. Liverpool however exploded out of the starting blocks and scored within minutes of the second half and Arsenal could barely get a grip on the game, but a howler from P Reina saw Arsenal snatch an unlikely point.

The performance of the weekend has clearly got to go to Blackpool for beating Wigan 4-0 away from home. Everyone had written them off before the start of the season and were labelled certain relegation candidates, surely now Wigan will be those worrying the most as Chelsea travel to the DW Stadium next. Last night saw a master class once again from Paul Scholes as Manchester United ran out comfortable winners against newly promoted Newcastle.
