Voucherboys top 28 Magical Movies of all Time Final Part

Posted by VoucherBoy on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

We have finally reached the end of the Top 28 Magical Movies countdown and have the two final films ready for you. We hope you like the list and look forward to your comments and the end of it. We are soon moving on to a new list to reveal and hope you will be back for that one.

Remember that the criteria is that the movie had an impact on the audience and that it played more on the imagination of the audience than trying to trick them with fancy CGI. There will be 2 movies listed every day, so make sure you bookmark and get back to me every morning to follow along as the list gets ever closer to that number one Magical Movie.

02. The Princess Bride (1987)

This era brought forward movies that were telling stories inside the movies. This unpresuming film starts out with a grandfather starting to read a story to his reluctant grandson. For imagination, our number 2 has only one better, but no equals.

When a young boy falls ill, his grandfather pops round to visit him. To cheer his grandson up, Grandpa has brought a storybook; The Princess Bride, a tale of the love between the beautiful Buttercup and the besotted Westley, a love cruelly interrupted by Westley’s tragic apparent death at sea when seeking his fortune.

Heartbroken, Buttercup has sworn never to love again, but accepts the marriage proposal of the rich and handsome Prince Humperdinck, heir to the throne of Florin; but death is no barrier to true love, and in a story filled with exotically-accented swordsmen, big-hearted giants, genius kidnappers, sadistic torturers, vile swamps, Rodents of Unusual Size, the Dread Pirate Roberts and a somewhat embittered miracle worker, the love between Westley and Buttercup twists and turns on a path filled with adventure.

Will the True Love of Westley and Buttercup win the day? Will Inigo Montaya find the six-fingered man who murdered his father? Will Humperdinck’s evil plans come to fruition? And, more importantly, will Grandpa be able to tell the story without any of the yucky kissing?

01. Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)

Star Trek had already gripped the imagination of people for almost 2 decades before this movie was released. If you wonder why Star Trek deserves a listing here, take a look at your iPhone – It was all imfluenced by people that grew up watching all those amazing gadgets in the Star Trek films and TV series.

A strange cloud descends upon Klingon vessels and eradicates them with an energy bolt. The Epsilon IX space station alerts the Federation, but they too are wiped out by the entity. The starship assigned to the case is, what else, the NCC-1701. That would be the registration number for the U.S.S. Enterprise, which has been rebuilt.

Thus, the entire original crew you knew from the TV show returns. Although they are prepared to face the entity, nothing will prepare them for the ride to come. The film can be summed up in a single word: beautiful.
