Voucherboys top 28 Magical Movies of all Time Part 10

Posted by VoucherBoy on Friday, July 30th, 2010

We are now getting in on the Top Ten part of this list and I thank you for all the comments and engagement you have shown. Please spread the word about this list if you like what you see. We are continuing today with the Top 28 (the Top Ten bit) Magcial Movies countdown and have two fresh films selected for you today.

The criteria is that the movie had an impact on the audience and that it played more on the imagination of the audience than trying to trick them with fancy CGI. There will be 2 movies listed every day, so make sure you bookmark and get back to me every morning to follow along as the list gets ever closer to that number one Magical Movie.

10. The Rocketeer (1991)

Just a few years prior to this movie we had seen a person fly in with just a rocket pack strapped to his back during an Olympic opening. Dreams coming true is one of the greatest criteria we have and this one is shooting in place number 10.

In 1938, in Los Angeles, the pilot Cliff Secord crashes his plane after being hit in the air in a shoot-out between gangsters and FBI agents in a car chase; completely broken, his best friend and mechanics A. ‘Peevy’ Peabody tries to fix an old plane to raise some money in an exhibition show.

However, Cliff finds a package hidden by one of the gangsters with a rocket with belts and they find that the device allows man to fly. Meanwhile, his beloved girlfriend and aspirant actress Jenny Blake succeeds in an audition to make a small part in a movie of the great actor Neville Sinclair that is ranked the third in box-offices. During a flight exhibition, the mechanic Malcolm (Eddie Jones) has an accident, and Cliff uses the rocket to save him, being called Rocketeer by the public.

With his picture in the front page of the newspaper, Cliff is chased by the FBI, the gangsters and German spies that abduct Jenny and forces Cliff to rescue her.

09. Back to the Future (1985)

Time travel, back forth, left, right and center. You have all you need for magical and day dreaming capability, add a cool car with a quirky scientist and for hero place a cool kid that everybody likes (except for the bad guys) and you have our number 9.

It is the year 1985. Marty McFly, a mild-mannered high school student, stopped by Dr. Emmett L. Brown’s laboratory to play around with an amplifier. Then he receives a message from Doc that he needs help from him for Doc’s latest invention, a time machine made out of a DeLorean sports car that can travel through time instantaneously when it reaches a speed velocity of 88 MPH.

Then, Doc was gunned down by Libyan Nationalists, Marty makes an effort to escape from the Lybians by using the time machine. Then Marty accidentally warps himself into 1955. Where he meets both of his parents when they were teenagers, then Marty unintentionally interrupts his parent’s first meeting together, he then finds a younger version of Doc and together they try to find a way to get Marty’s parents-to-be back together, and to get Marty back to 1985.
